Healthy Diet Tips for Rainy season
It’s that time of the year again! Before it’s too late, here are some important healthy diet tips for rainy season to help you get ready and keep you healthy and happy.
1. Avoid street food as much as possible
It is common that people love to eat fried food during monsoon, as the weather demands it. However, during the rainy season, the oil is not changed and instead rainwater can be mixed in the oil that is used for frying such foods.
2. Drink mineral water
Since water borne diseases are quite common during monsoon, it is must to drink only mineral water and avoid juices and other roadside beverages. The roadside water tends to be contaminated once they are mixed with rainwater that contains harsh chemicals.
3. Eat dry food
It is best advised to avoid watery food during monsoons such as juices, soft drinks, etc. Instead of these, you should eat different category of dry food like flour, pea, corn, cereals, and boiled vegetables.
4. Drink green/herbal tea
You should consume green/herbal tea instead of milk tea as it has anti-bacterial properties which helps in building up your immunity against germs and harmful bacteria.
5. Eating bitter vegetables
You should definitely have a wish of bitter vegetables like bottle gourd, etc to avoid feeling sick. If you do not like to consume it in a boiled form, you can make a fried form to add taste to it.
6. Take bath with neem water
To keep your skin free from skin infections and allergies, it is best to add neem leaves in your bathing water and use only lukewarm water. This is a wonderful tip to stay away from all types of skin allergies during monsoon.
7. Dry Ginger
If you suffer from continuous cough and cold during rainy days, you should boil water with dry ginger and drink it for immediate relief. However, in case of viral fever boil tulsi, ginger, and honey and drink the juice to cure viral fever.
8. Avoid fishes, go for soups
You should be very careful while having fish and prawns during the monsoon, since it is their breeding season and you may end up having a bad stomach infection. It is better to avoid fishes and go for soups made from fresh vegetables.
9. Increase your intake of vitamin C
You need to increase your intake of vitamin C to build resistance against infections and diseases mostly occurred in monsoon.
10. Sore Throat Relief
Monsoon has brings a lot of infections and diseases with itself. The most common infection during monsoon is sore throat. Therefore, if you suffer from sore throat, you can gargle with lukewarm saline water for instant relief.
